Tiny asparagus fern flowers.
(Asparagus densiflorus ‘Sprengeri’)
Button fern. (Pellaea rotundifolia)
This plant currently has a few fertile fronds, which means there are spore pods growing on the underside of some of the leaves. The spores can be harvested to grow new plants. I haven’t yet tried, but will report back if I have any success with future fern-spore propagation experiments.
A new asparagus shoot. (asparagus plumosas)

Asparagus fern. This species, asparagus plumosas is a cousin to the edible asparagus officinalis which can be found at your local market. Asparagus fern is technically not a fern but looks and acts like one in many ways, hence the common name. New shoots on this plant look just like miniature asparagus.
